Senstar Symphony license price per camera, Senstar VMS maintenance and what 15 cameras cost

Senstar does not publish a price list, but its licensing is simple to read. Symphony is licensed per device with a perpetual license: about $86.62 a camera for Standard and $247.06 for Enterprise at a US reseller, plus optional Maintenance and Support from $40 a camera a year. Analytics are a separate license on each camera. Below is what each line costs and what fifteen cameras add up to.
  • Licensing rules read from Senstar's own licensing, specification and Senstar Care pages
  • Prices from a US reseller's live listings, each with its part number

01 The short answer

A Symphony quote has three lines that matter, and the analytics line is often the biggest.

Senstar licenses Symphony per security device on each server farm. The edition sets the price per device; maintenance and analytics sit on top.

Device licenses

One per camera, door or sensor

Senstar's own example: 32 cameras and one I/O device need 33 licenses. Licenses are perpetual, and clients are free and unlimited.

Maintenance and Support

Optional, 1 to 5 years

Free version upgrades, license transfer between servers, cloud backup and phone support. Without it you get 90 days of support and one case.

Video analytics

Per camera, on top

People and vehicle tracking, left object, crowd, plate and face recognition are each a license added to a camera. This is where quotes grow.

The device licenses US stores list still carry Symphony 7 part numbers. That matters less than it looks: Senstar says a site with active Maintenance and Support upgrades from version 7 to 8 for free, and the current release is 8.12, out since July 2026. Every 7.x version is past end of life, so buy the maintenance with the license, not after.

Professional is gone in Symphony 8. Senstar moved existing Professional licenses up to Enterprise automatically, which leaves two editions to choose between. A Professional line on a new quote is a question to ask your integrator about.

03 Standard or Enterprise

Both editions include the HTML5 web client, the mobile app, access control integration, edge storage and support for video analytics. Licenses refresh from Senstar Connect or a license file, and moving a license to another server is a Maintenance and Support benefit, so a lapsed contract makes a server replacement harder than it should be.

04 Symphony analytics price

Person and vehicle detection on Symphony is licensed per camera, and it costs more than the camera license.

Symphony 7 analytics part numbers at the same US reseller. Senstar adds AI DNN analytics in version 8 but no US store lists their prices yet.

Outdoor people and vehicle tracking on fifteen cameras is 15 x $494.12, or $7,411.80, before maintenance on the analytics. That is the line to question if the reason for the purchase is fewer false motion alerts. A detection layer that reads the stream Symphony already pulls does the person and vehicle part for a flat monthly price, and the person detection camera software page shows how it works on cameras you already own. Symphony keeps recording either way.

Person and vehicle alerts on 15 cameras at up to 3 sites. Symphony keeps recording

The arithmetic: Standard is 15 x $86.62 = $1,299.30 in licenses, plus $600 a year of V8 maintenance at $40 a camera, or $1,050 once for five years on the V7 five year part. Enterprise is 15 x $247.06 = $3,705.90 plus $840 a year. The rows do not buy the same thing. Symphony records and stores video; we do not. Our row is there for one buyer: a site whose Symphony server records fine and who was about to pay for the analytics line to stop the noise. Per camera totals for other platforms are on the Salient CompleteView license price, Milestone Husky price and exacqVision license price pages.

06 Where Symphony wins

Four things Senstar Symphony does that this product does not.

  • It records and stores

Continuous full resolution video on your own servers, up to 1,024 cameras each. We keep events and their crops, not continuous video.

  • Perimeter sensor fusion

Senstar also makes fence and buried cable sensors, and Symphony fuses their alarms with video analytics. We work from video only.

  • It runs without internet

Recording, playback and the clients run on site. Our classification runs as a service, so the site needs an outbound connection.

  • Doors and access control

Symphony is a common operating platform with access control and integrations like OnGuard. We send alerts by email, webhook and Slack.

07 What buyers ask at this point

Senstar Symphony questions that come up while you are pricing it.

01

How much does a Senstar Symphony license cost?

Senstar publishes no price list. At A1 Security Cameras, a US reseller, a Standard device license is $86.62, Professional $199.99 and Enterprise $247.06, all perpetual. One year of Standard V8 Maintenance and Support is $40 per camera. Analytics are extra, from $329.41 per camera.

02

How is Senstar Symphony licensed?

Per device on the server or server farm. Senstar's example is 32 cameras and one I/O device needing 33 licenses. Licenses are perpetual, clients are unlimited and free, and each video analytic is a separate license added to a camera. Licenses are tied to the servers' MAC addresses.

03

What are the Senstar Symphony editions?

Symphony 8 has two: Standard for a single server and Enterprise for high availability. Both allow 1,024 cameras per server. Enterprise adds the server farm, automatic failover, video wall, ArcGIS maps, load balancing and the SDK. Professional was dropped in version 8 and existing Professional licenses became Enterprise.

04

Is Senstar Symphony a subscription?

No. Senstar states that all channel licenses are perpetual and that Maintenance and Support is optional. Maintenance runs 1 to 5 years and covers version upgrades, license transfer between servers, cloud backup, health monitoring and phone support. Without it you get 90 days of support.

05

Is the upgrade from Symphony 7 to 8 free?

Yes, if the site has active Maintenance and Support. Senstar says the upgrade is then free and fully supported. All 7.x releases are end of life, 7.6 since March 31, 2025. Without maintenance, a paid version upgrade license is needed.

06

Does Senstar Symphony have person and vehicle detection?

Yes, as paid per camera analytics. Outdoor people and vehicle tracking lists at $494.12 per camera and core analytics at $535.29 on Symphony 7 part numbers. A detection layer such as MotionDetection can add person and vehicle alerts from the streams Symphony already records instead.

Keep Symphony recording. Fix the alerts.
