Milestone Husky IVO price for every Husky NVR, with the XProtect licenses it does not include

A Milestone Husky IVO recorder lists from $5,125 (150D desktop, 4 TB) and $5,600 (350T tower, 8 TB) at US resellers. The price buys the box with XProtect preloaded, not the camera licenses: those are extra, from $109 a camera on Express+, plus Care Plus every year. If you run an older Husky M10 to M550A, Milestone terminated it in June 2024, so the real question is what replaces it.

01 The short answer

Three numbers decide what a Milestone Husky really costs.

The recorder, the XProtect licenses that run on it, and the yearly care plan. Most quotes show the first and surprise you with the other two.

The Husky IVO box

$5,125 to $6,825 for desktop and tower

Husky IVO 150D (20 channels) lists at $5,125 to $5,750 and 350T (50 channels) at $5,600 to $6,825 by drive size. Rack models list far higher in the US. All carry a five year hardware warranty with onsite service.

XProtect licenses

Not included on Husky IVO

Every camera needs a device license for the XProtect edition you choose: Express+ $109, Professional+ $177, Expert $282, Corporate $345 per device, plus a base license. The free 8 camera Essential+ edition ended with XProtect 2025 R2.

Care Plus

About 18% of the license a year

Care Plus keeps XProtect upgradable: $19.80 a year per Express+ device and $33 per Professional+ device, less on 3 and 5 year terms. Expert and Corporate require the first year at purchase.

02 Milestone Husky IVO price

Husky IVO prices by model, as US resellers list them.

List prices at Network Camera Store, which match two other US storefronts to the cent. Channel counts are Milestone's, at 1080p and 30 frames a second.

The SKU tells you the drive size: HE150D-4TB, HE350T-8TB, HE1000R-128TB. Every unit ships with XProtect preloaded and runs any of the five XProtect editions once you apply a license code bought separately. The 700R and larger add hardware RAID, dual operating system drives and dual power supplies.

Read the rack rows with care. In the US they list at four to five times the tower, while a UK government price list from January 2026 puts the 350R at about twice the 350T. Those listings are real, but a Milestone partner quote for a rack unit is usually the number that matters. One US store sells about 2.4% under list (HE150D-4TB at $5,000).

Older Husky M models included 8 or 16 camera licenses. Husky IVO includes none, which is the line most replacement quotes miss.

Care Plus is about 18% of the device license price a year, and Milestone sells care plans in 12 to 60 month terms priced by device count. It pays for version upgrades and trade in credit; Care Premium adds direct Milestone support. Licenses are perpetual, so a lapsed plan leaves the cameras recording on the version you have. The same per camera arithmetic for other platforms is on our pages for the AXIS Camera Station license, the DW Spectrum license price and exacqVision license price and SSA. If you are moving off the free edition, the XProtect Essential+ alternative post prices Express+ and four other routes for eight cameras.

04 Which Husky you own

Terminated means no recovery image, no hotfixes and no free phone or web support. The cameras keep recording, but a dead system drive becomes a rebuild with nothing from Milestone to rebuild from. Owners of an M20 or M30 replacing it with a 150D or 350T should budget the licenses again, because the 8 or 16 that came inside the old box do not carry over as hardware.

Person and vehicle alerts on 15 cameras at up to 3 sites. Your Husky or NVR keeps recording

These rows do not buy the same thing. A Husky records and stores video; we do not. Our row only belongs here for one buyer: a site whose Husky records fine, whose alerts are useless, and who was about to buy a new box or an analytics license to fix that. For a site that needs a new recorder, buy the recorder. The video management software guide compares XProtect with other platforms by license model, and Milestone's cloud option is priced on our Arcules pricing page.

06 Alerts on a Husky

A Husky IVO ships with no person or vehicle detection of its own.

XProtect detects motion on the server and can search metadata your cameras already produce, so a Hanwha or i-PRO camera with on board analytics gets object search through a plugin. Older or mixed cameras get pixel motion, which means wind, headlights and shadows. The paid routes are XProtect Rapid REVIEW per device, BriefCam on a separate Husky XA or XE appliance, and LPR as an add on. A lighter route reads the stream the Husky already records:

01

Connect

Give it the RTSP URL of each camera, or let it find them over ONVIF. It reads the low resolution sub stream, so the Husky keeps the main stream and nothing on the recorder changes.

02

Detect

Our own background model finds regions that really moved and joins them into events. Sensor noise and compression shimmer are dropped before anything is classified.

03

Classify

Each event is labelled person, vehicle, animal, package or other motion, with a confidence value, on any brand of camera, old or new.

04

Alert

Only events in the classes and zones you chose reach you, by email, webhook or Slack, for every user on the account.

The RTSP camera software page covers stream URLs and sub streams, and person detection camera software shows the alerts on cameras you already own. You can run a clip from one of your cameras through the demo at the top of this page first.

07 Where Husky wins

Four things a Milestone Husky does that this product does not.

  • It records and stores

A Husky keeps weeks of full resolution video on its own drives. We keep events and their crops, not continuous video.

  • It works without internet

Recording and playback run on site. Our classification runs as a service, so the site needs an outbound connection.

  • Onsite hardware warranty

Five years of onsite service on Husky IVO. We have no hardware to repair, which also means none to replace.

  • The XProtect ecosystem

Access control, video walls, failover and hundreds of integrations. We send alerts; we are not a VMS.

08 What buyers ask at this point

Milestone Husky questions that come up while you are pricing one.

01

How much does a Milestone Husky cost?

A Milestone Husky IVO 150D desktop lists at $5,125 to $5,750 and a 350T tower at $5,600 to $6,825 at US resellers, depending on storage. Rack models (350R to 1800R) list from $27,100 to $99,600 in the US, and a partner quote is usually lower. XProtect camera licenses and Care Plus are extra.

02

Does Milestone Husky come with camera licenses?

Husky IVO does not. It ships with XProtect preloaded and runs any edition once you apply a license code bought separately, so each camera needs a device license, from $109 on Express+. The older Husky M10 to M50 included 8 camera licenses, and the M20 came with 8 or 16.

03

Is Milestone Husky discontinued?

The old families are. Husky M10 was terminated in October 2020, M20, M30, M50, M500A and M550A on June 30, 2024, Husky X2 has passed its May 11, 2026 termination date and X8 terminates May 31, 2027. Husky IVO 150D to 1800R is in general availability and sold in 2026.

04

What replaced the Milestone Husky M20 and M30?

Husky IVO. The 150D desktop handles 20 channels and the 350T tower 50, both with XProtect preloaded and a five year warranty. Unlike the M series, they include no camera licenses, so a replacement quote should add an XProtect base license, one device license per camera and Care Plus.

05

Is XProtect Essential+ still free on a Husky?

No. Milestone discontinued the free 8 camera XProtect Essential+ edition with XProtect 2025 R2, and copies downloaded earlier could no longer activate licenses after January 1, 2026. Express+ at $29 for the base license and $109 per camera is now the entry edition, for up to 100 devices per server.

06

How much is Milestone Care Plus?

About 18% of the device license price a year. US resellers list one year of Care Plus at $19.80 per Express+ device, $33 per Professional+ device and $63 per Corporate device, with multi year terms cheaper per year. Expert and Corporate require a year of Care Plus on first purchase.

07

Does a Milestone Husky have person and vehicle detection?

Not by itself. XProtect does server side motion detection and reads analytics metadata from cameras that produce it. Classification on other cameras needs XProtect Rapid REVIEW, BriefCam on a Husky XA or XE appliance, or a detection layer such as MotionDetection on the RTSP streams the Husky already records.

Keep the Husky recording. Fix the alerts.
