Avigilon camera license cost for Unity Video Core, Standard and Enterprise

An Avigilon camera license is a perpetual, per camera channel license for Avigilon Unity Video (formerly ACC). At a US reseller one channel costs $83.49 for Core (24 cameras), $135 for Standard (75 cameras) and $284.86 for Enterprise, against list prices of $92.77, $150 and $316.51. Upgrades to newer versions are a separate Smart Plan, from $14.45 a camera a year.

01 The short answer

One license per camera, one edition per site.

The edition decides the price, the camera ceiling and the features. All cameras on a site use the same edition.

Avigilon sells Unity Video on premises by camera channel. Each IP camera, encoder channel or third party ONVIF camera that records to an Avigilon server takes one channel license. You buy the license once and it stays valid on the version you activated it on. Avigilon does not publish a price list, so the figures here come from Bluff City Electronics, a US reseller that shows its sale price next to the list price for every Avigilon part number.

What a license does not include is the next major version. ACC 7 sites found that out when Unity Video 8 shipped as a paid upgrade. Staying current takes a Smart Plan per camera, which is the second line on every Avigilon quote and the one buyers most often leave out of the budget.

For fifteen cameras the license alone is $1,252.35 on Core, $2,025 on Standard and $4,272.90 on Enterprise. Add a five year Smart Plan and Enterprise lands at $5,892.90.

The ACC 7 versions carry the same numbers: ACC7-COR $83.49, ACC7-ENT $284.86, ACC7-VAC $294.68. The one outlier is ACC7-STD at $162.07, which is more than UNITY8-STD, so a Standard site adding cameras today should order the Unity part. Bundles with a Smart Plan exist for ACC 7 too: ACC7-STD-BUNDLE at $210.85 and ACC7-ENT-BUNDLE at $379.36 per camera.

Other resellers land close by. Barcode Discount lists UNITY8-ENT at $260.66 against the same $316.51 MSRP, and Barcodes Inc. shows $410.29. Ask your integrator to quote the part numbers above line by line, then hold the quote against list. If your system came from an Avigilon AI NVR, the license lines are itemized on our Avigilon AI NVR price post.

Fifteen cameras at the reseller prices above. The last bar is not a recording license; it is our yearly alert layer, shown because many buyers price licenses to fix alerts.

Most single building businesses fit Standard. Core works for a small office or shop under 24 cameras that needs no rules, no audio and no maps, but the zero rule triggers means no automated actions at all. Enterprise is for multi server sites, failover, Appearance Search and the Avigilon AI Appliance. Moving up later costs the difference per camera: UNITY8-COR-TO-STD $103.14, UNITY8-STD-TO-ENT $171.90, UNITY8-COR-TO-ENT $221.01.

04 The second line on the quote

Smart Plan prices per camera for 1, 3 and 5 years.

A Smart Plan entitles each licensed camera to every Unity Video version released while the plan runs. It does not add camera channels.

Avigilon's Smart Assurance Plan fact sheet says every plan includes eligibility for all Unity Video versions released during its term, an Advanced System Health subscription at no extra charge, and that the 1 year plan replaces the old one version upgrade parts. ACC 7.14.0 or newer is required to use Smart Update parts. The ACC Smart Plan parts (ACC-STD-SMART-1YR, ACC-ENT-SMART-5YR and so on) sell at the same prices.

The count has to match. Avigilon's Unity Video guide tells ACC 7 sites to make the number of Smart Plan licenses equal the number of camera channels before upgrading. If you skipped the plan and now want Unity Video 8, our ACC 7 to Unity 8 upgrade cost post works through the arithmetic for a real site.

The last row is where most quotes balloon. A Unity license records a third party or older Avigilon camera, but it does not make that camera classify people and vehicles. Avigilon does that on non analytic cameras through a video analytics channel (UNITY8-VAC, Standard or Core only; Avigilon's support library describes VAC channels as included with Enterprise licenses) running on an Avigilon AI NVR or AI Appliance, which is new hardware. Our AI NVR software comparison prices that route against the others.

06 If the real problem is alerts

Licenses record your cameras. They do not stop false alerts.

Many Avigilon sites price new licenses because motion alerts on older or third party cameras are useless. A license will not change that.

Where alerts go

What it costs

$888 a year for 15 cameras, $2,988 a year for 60, published on our pricing page. No hardware.

MotionDetection reads the RTSP stream of each camera, the same stream Unity Video records. A small connector on your network handles cameras behind NAT. Nothing is installed on the Avigilon server, so your license count, Smart Plan and upgrade schedule do not change.

07 Ordering

How to order Avigilon camera licenses without overpaying.

  1. 1

    Count channels, not cameras

Each camera, each encoder channel and each multi sensor head that records separately is a channel. Count what the server will actually record.

  2. 2

Pick the edition for the whole site

All cameras on a site share one edition. If one requirement needs Enterprise, such as failover, every channel is priced at Enterprise.

  3. 3

Decide on the Smart Plan now

A plan bought with the licenses is cheaper per year than catching up at the next major version. The 5 year plan is the lowest yearly rate.

  4. 4

    Compare the quote to list

Ask for part numbers and unit prices. A quote at or above the list prices in the tables above has room to negotiate.

If you are still choosing between Avigilon and another recording platform, the video management software comparison prices DW Spectrum, Wisenet WAVE, AXIS Camera Station and exacqVision per camera on the same basis. You can also check what our classification does on one of your own clips in the demo at the top.

08 Asked while pricing Avigilon licenses

Avigilon license questions buyers ask before ordering.

01

How much is an Avigilon camera license?

An Avigilon Unity Video camera license costs $83.49 for Core, $135 for Standard and $284.86 for Enterprise at a US reseller in October 2026, against list prices of $92.77, $150 and $316.51. The license is perpetual and covers one camera channel. Version upgrades need a separate Smart Plan, from $14.45 per camera a year.

02

Do Avigilon licenses expire?

No. Avigilon camera channel licenses are perpetual on the version they were activated on. What expires is the Smart Plan, which entitles the camera to newer Unity Video versions released during its term. Without an active plan, moving to the next major version is a paid upgrade.

03

What is the difference between Avigilon Core, Standard and Enterprise?

Core allows 24 cameras on one server with no rule triggers. Standard allows 75 cameras on one server with 51 rule triggers, maps, audio and saved views. Enterprise scales past 300 cameras per server and 100 servers per site and adds failover, redundant recording, Appearance Search and the AI Appliance.

04

Does Avigilon support third party cameras?

Yes. All three Unity Video editions record third party ONVIF conformant cameras and encoders, each on one camera channel license. Avigilon analytics such as object classification on those cameras need a video analytics channel and an Avigilon AI NVR or AI Appliance, which is extra hardware.

05

What is an Avigilon Smart Plan?

A Smart Plan, or Smart Assurance Plan, is a 1, 3 or 5 year upgrade entitlement per camera channel. It gives access to every Unity Video version released during the term plus Advanced System Health. At a US reseller it costs $14.45 to $57.78 per camera for Standard and $28.89 to $108 for Enterprise.

06

Can I mix Avigilon license editions on one site?

No. Every camera channel on a site uses the same edition. To move up, buy edition upgrade licenses per camera, such as UNITY8-STD-TO-ENT at $171.90 or UNITY8-COR-TO-STD at $103.14 at a US reseller, rather than new full licenses.

Keep Avigilon recording. Get alerts that mean something.
