A Luxriot EVO S license costs $50 to $75 per camera channel at a US reseller, paid once. The older tier SKUs run from $500 for 9 channels and $800 for 16 to $4,800 for 96, with two years of updates. The current tiers, which include Premium Lifetime support and updates, are $1,800 for 24 channels up to $7,200 for 96. Person and vehicle detection is a separate EVA license, bought per channel, from $100.

Luxriot publishes no end user price list. Every dollar figure below is a listing at Network Camera Store, the one US reseller that shows its full Luxriot range with prices, and the rules come from Luxriot's own EVO administration guide dated May 2026 and its video analytics guide. We sell detection that runs on your existing camera streams, not recording software, and the last two sections say exactly where that matters for a Luxriot site.

Luxriot EVO S price by channel count

EVO S is the single server edition: one recording server, a fixed number of video channels, unlimited client connections, and one generic video analytics channel included. Luxriot now lists it in 24, 48, 72, 96 and Unlimited channel tiers. The smaller S9 and S16 tiers are no longer on Luxriot's own site but are still sold, and for a small business they are the cheapest way in. Network Camera Store carries two generations of SKUs side by side, and the difference is the update plan, not the software.

The price is flat at $50 or $75 a channel from 16 channels up, so there is no volume discount to chase by buying a bigger tier early. Buy for the camera count you have plus one expansion, and add channels later. Two catches on add-ons: the $50 add-on has a minimum order of six channels, so adding two cameras still costs $300, and the $75 add-on needs a base license on the Premium Lifetime plan.

Luxriot's own site lists the current tiers, and its edition pages do not show dollar figures. That is why the search results for Luxriot pricing are mostly shop listings and software directories, and why the same tier appears at two prices. Neither price is wrong. The $1,800 S24 buys a longer update plan than the $1,200 S24.

Two years of updates or Premium Lifetime

Every EVO license is perpetual. Luxriot's administration guide says that when the update subscription expires, the license stays active and the server keeps recording. What stops is new versions: the installer warns you if you try to install a build released after your subscription ended, and technical support runs two years from the last version you installed.

The older SKUs include two years of updates. After that, renewals are sold per channel: $7 for one year, $10 for two, $13 for three, or $25 for Premium Lifetime. Premium Lifetime means the lifetime of the product, up to Luxriot's end of support for EVO, not the lifetime of your business. Doing the arithmetic on 24 channels: the $1,200 SKU plus a lifetime renewal at $25 a channel is $1,800, exactly the price of the Lifetime SKU. If you already know you will keep updating, buy the Lifetime SKU. If you might replace the system within four years, the older SKU saves $600 now.

Luxriot EVO Global price

EVO Global is the multi server edition, licensed per channel with no set ceiling. The license lives on the central management server and recording servers need none, so channels can move between servers. Global adds what S does not have: failover and central server mirroring, archive replication, video walls, an organization hierarchy, and events and actions managed centrally across sites.

Global makes sense from roughly 50 cameras across more than one server, or wherever a dead recording server is not acceptable. For a single building with 15 to 40 cameras, EVO S does the same recording job at a third of the price.

EVA analytics as the per channel add-on

EVO records and does pixel motion detection on its own, either on the camera or on the server, where you choose between a key frame mode and a full stream mode. Anything that knows what moved is EVA, Luxriot's analytics line, licensed per video channel. One EVA license covers one camera at a time, and every EVO license includes one generic analytics channel.

The license is the smaller half of the cost. Luxriot's guide sets a minimum of one physical core at 3 GHz or faster and 1 GB of RAM per analytics channel, and strongly recommends a DirectX 12 capable NVIDIA or AMD graphics card. The object detector runs on CPU or GPU, the larger models need an NVIDIA card with CUDA, and license plate classification and face recognition are GPU only. Fifteen cameras of analytics therefore means fifteen spare cores or a GPU in the recording server, on top of the recording load it already carries.

Trial, hardware binding and renewals

  • No free edition. Luxriot removed the free EVO license from release 1.22.0. Older posts that mention one are out of date.
  • 45 day trial. Up to 16 video channels, one analytics channel and one CrossLink channel, once per system, with no extension and no technical support.
  • One key per server. A license activates on one machine. Roughly 30 percent of the original hardware can change without losing the activation, and virtual machines are supported from version 1.13.
  • Transfers. The license grant is non transferable. Luxriot publishes no self service procedure for moving a key to new hardware, so plan a server replacement through your reseller.
  • Legacy Luxriot VMS owners. Upgrading to EVO S costs $30 a channel with a minimum of 24 channels at Network Camera Store, or a per tier price from $500 for 24 channels.

Fifteen cameras, five years

Software only, at the Network Camera Store prices above, one building, no server, graphics card, cameras or installation labor. The one included analytics channel is counted, so the EVA rows license fourteen more. The rows do not buy the same thing, and the last column says so.

Read it honestly. Luxriot is inexpensive recording software, and if your EVO server has spare cores or a graphics card, EVA Base is the cheapest route to person and vehicle alerts on this page. We would not tell a Luxriot owner with an oversized server to pay us instead. The bottom row is here for the sites described in the next section.

When an EVA license is the wrong purchase

The Luxriot site that ends up reading about EVA prices usually has a recording server sized for recording. Motion alerts fire on headlights, rain and moving shadows, EVA looks like the fix, and then the hardware note arrives: fifteen analytics channels need fifteen spare cores or a GPU. The real quote is the EVA licenses plus a new server or a graphics card, the downtime to install it, and someone to tune fifteen detectors.

The alternative is classification that does not run on the recording server at all. Our software connects to each camera over RTSP or ONVIF alongside EVO, reads the low resolution sub stream, finds real motion with its own background model, labels each event person, vehicle, animal or package, and sends only the classes you chose by email, webhook or Slack. EVO keeps recording the main stream and nothing on the server changes. The plans and the per camera arithmetic are on the video analytics software price page, and you can run the detector on a clip of your own at the top of this page before you pay anything.

If the reason you want smarter alerts is that nobody notices when the recording server itself goes quiet, that is a different problem. A dead EVO S server records nothing and alerts nobody. Routing a server or storage failure into an incident tool that pages whoever is on call closes that gap for a lot less than EVO Global failover.

If you are still choosing a recording platform, the video management software comparison sets Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon and Nx Witness side by side on license model, and the GeoVision VMS license price and DW Spectrum license pricing pages cover the two platforms most often quoted against Luxriot for small sites. If you record to the cloud instead, the Ivideon pricing and alternatives page covers the per camera cloud route.

Questions buyers ask

How much does a Luxriot EVO S license cost?

At a US reseller, Luxriot EVO S costs $50 to $75 per camera channel, once. The older tier SKUs are $500 for 9 channels, $800 for 16, $1,200 for 24 and $4,800 for 96, with two years of updates. The current Premium Lifetime SKUs are $1,800 for 24 channels up to $7,200 for 96.

Is Luxriot EVO free?

No. Luxriot withdrew the free EVO license from software release 1.22.0. There is a 45 day trial with up to 16 video channels, one analytics channel and one CrossLink channel, available once per system, with no extension and no technical support. After the trial you need a paid EVO S or EVO Global license.

Does a Luxriot license expire?

No. EVO licenses are perpetual, and the server keeps running when the update subscription ends. What expires is access to new versions: updates run two years from activation on the older SKUs, and support two years from the last version installed. Renewal is $7 to $13 a channel for one to three years, or $25 for Premium Lifetime.

What is the difference between Luxriot EVO S and EVO Global?

EVO S is licensed for one recording server and a fixed channel tier. EVO Global is licensed per channel on a central management server across any number of recording servers, and adds failover, archive replication, video walls and central event management. Global starts at $5,000 for 50 channels with two years of updates, and moving from S costs $35 a channel.

Does Luxriot EVO have person detection?

Yes, through EVA, sold per channel. EVA Base, at $100 a channel, detects humans, vehicles and animals, and the EVA Object Detector, at $375, adds more object classes. Each EVO license includes one generic analytics channel. Plan for one physical CPU core and 1 GB of RAM per analytics channel, or a supported graphics card.

Can I move a Luxriot license to a new server?

Not by yourself. The license is tied to one machine, tolerates roughly 30 percent of the hardware changing, and the license terms describe it as non transferable. Luxriot publishes no self service transfer procedure, so a server replacement goes through your reseller or Luxriot support. Virtual machines are supported from EVO version 1.13.
