Ivideon alternative for business cameras, with Ivideon pricing and cost per camera compared

The right Ivideon alternative depends on what you use Ivideon for. If it is cloud recording and remote viewing, Angelcam, Camcloud and Arcules are the like for like options. If a recorder on site already keeps the footage and the problem is motion alerts that fire on shadows, rain and headlights, you need classification on the stream, not another cloud plan. Ivideon charges $42 to $156 a camera a year, before analytics.

01 The short answer

Ivideon sells three things per camera. Know which one you are replacing.

Most business accounts pay for the first two and wish the alerts were better.

Remote viewing

The Online plan: live video and events, no cloud archive

Ivideon connects existing cameras and recorders through its $99 Bridge, its free Ivideon Server software or cameras with Ivideon built in, and shows them in one app. At $42 a camera a year from Ivideon's US store, live viewing is cheap.

Cloud recording

A yearly plan per camera, priced by retention

Cloud 3, Cloud 7 and Cloud 14 keep 3, 7 or 14 days of video in Ivideon's cloud, triggered by the camera's detectors or continuous, at $90, $126 and $156 a camera a year. This is where an Ivideon bill grows, one camera at a time.

Knowing what moved

Person and vehicle alerts instead of every pixel change

Ivideon's alerts come from motion, sound and sensor detectors, several of them depending on the camera model. Its paid analytics are faces, plates, people counting and queues. We found no Ivideon plan that labels a motion event person or vehicle to cut false alerts.

02 Ivideon pricing

Ivideon charges a yearly plan per camera priced by cloud retention.

Ivideon.com has no public pricing page. These are the one year per camera licenses on Ivideon's own US store and the plans a US reseller lists.

The structure matters more than any single number. Every camera is its own license, paid a year up front, and the reseller lists no refunds. Reseller plans allow up to 50 cameras per account and share access with 25 other users. The Ivideon Bridge, $99 on Ivideon's store, connects up to 16 existing cameras or NVR channels over RTSP or ONVIF and needs a paid cloud plan. Analytics are yearly add-ons per camera on top: Faces from $513, license plates from $94.05, people counting from $133.95 and queues from $136.80 at the reseller.

Ivideon cost, 15 cameras, US store prices

Cloud 14 on every camera: 15 x $156 = $2,340 a year, plus a $99 Bridge.

Cloud 7 on every camera: 15 x $126 = $1,890 a year, plus a $99 Bridge.

Online, live view only: 15 x $42 = $630 a year.

Before any analytics add-on, and with alerts still coming from motion and sound detectors.

03 Ivideon alternatives, side by side

Five products that work with the business cameras you already own.

Every row accepts third party IP cameras, which is why most businesses chose Ivideon. They differ on where the video lives, how detection is sold and whether a price is published.

Read the second column first. Three of these replace Ivideon like for like, storage included. We store no video, so we only replace Ivideon at a site that already records on an NVR, a DVR or VMS software. The Angelcam numbers come from our page on the Angelcam alternative and Angelcam pricing, the Camcloud figures from the Camcloud alternative and Camcloud pricing page, and the Arcules ones from our breakdown of Arcules pricing per camera channel. Videoloft, which bills per camera per month and publishes its whole grid, is totaled on our Videoloft pricing per camera page.

04 Why people look for an alternative

Four reasons an Ivideon account ends up in a comparison, and how much each one matters.

01

The bill grows with every recording camera

Ivideon is cheap per camera and easy to start. Fifteen cameras on Cloud 14 is $2,340 a year, every year, and a site that also runs an NVR is paying to store the same footage twice.

Matters most at sites with a working recorder and more than ten cameras.

02

Alerts are motion alerts

Ivideon notifies on motion, sound, temperature and alarm inputs, tuned by zone, sensitivity and threshold. Shadows, rain, insects and headlights all move pixels, so a busy outdoor camera sends a busy inbox.

Matters most on outdoor cameras and parking lots.

03

Analytics are priced for retail, not security

The paid analytics count people, measure queues, read plates and recognize faces. Those are useful in a store. None of them is a person or vehicle filter on ordinary motion events.

Matters most when the only goal is fewer false alerts.

04

Procurement asks where the company comes from

US customers contract with Ivideon LLC in Irvine, California, and its privacy policy says US account data is kept in US data centers. The company started in Russia, which IPVM reported on in 2022, and some security and IT policies ask about that.

Matters most in regulated, public sector and enterprise purchasing.

Where Ivideon is genuinely the right answer

A shop, café or small office with a handful of cameras and no recorder is well served by Ivideon. The per camera price is low, the Bridge takes almost any camera, clips export easily, and a public stream can go on a website. Retailers who actually want to count visitors, watch queues or read plates get those analytics in the same app. Nobody in that position should swap it for a detection tool that stores nothing. This page is for the other buyer: a recorder full of footage and a phone full of alerts about moving shadows.

05 How the detection half works here

Classification on the stream you already record, with no new box and no cloud archive.

01

Connect

Give it the RTSP URL your recorder already uses, or let it find the camera over ONVIF. It reads the low resolution sub stream, so the recorder keeps the main stream and nothing on the camera changes.

02

Detect

Our own background model finds regions that really moved and joins them into events. Sensor noise, compression shimmer and single frame flicker are removed before anything is classified.

03

Classify

Crops from each event are labelled person, vehicle, animal, package or other motion, with a confidence value. Continuous video never leaves your network.

04

Alert

Only events outside your exclude zones, longer than your minimum duration and in a class you chose reach you, by email, webhook or Slack.

For a site coming from Ivideon, two things change. Upload drops from continuous or triggered video to small event crops. And the alert is about what moved, not that something moved, whatever brand the camera is. The RTSP camera software page covers stream URLs, sub streams and codecs, and person detection camera software covers the one class most businesses actually need alerts for. Sites recording on their own server can compare the cost against the analytics add-on in our Luxriot EVO S pricing breakdown.

06 Fifteen cameras, five years

What the same fifteen camera business costs, and what each number buys.

Ivideon US store prices and our published yearly price, one Bridge, no cameras and no installation labor. The rows do not buy the same thing, and the last column says so.

The honest reading: if remote viewing is all you use, Ivideon Online is cheaper than we are, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you pay for Cloud 7 or Cloud 14 while an NVR in the back room records the same cameras, and the reason you are unhappy is the alerts, the bottom row is the whole cost of that fix, published, with no footage paid for twice. The video analytics software price page lists every tier and the per camera arithmetic.

07 Where we lose

Four things Ivideon does that this product does not.

  • No live view

Ivideon shows every camera live in its apps and in a browser. Here you get the event list and the crops, and you open the footage in the recorder you already have.

  • No cloud recording

We keep events and their crops, not continuous video. If the only copy of your footage sits on a recorder in the building, a stolen recorder takes it with it, and Ivideon's cloud archive protects against exactly that.

  • No retail analytics

Ivideon counts visitors, measures queues, reads license plates and recognizes faces. We classify motion events for alerts and do none of those four.

  • No public broadcasting

Ivideon can put a live stream on a website or a social page. We do not publish video anywhere.

08 What buyers ask at this point

Ivideon questions that come up while you are comparing.

01

How much does Ivideon cost?

Ivideon charges a yearly license per camera. On its US store, Online is $42 a camera a year with no cloud archive, Cloud 3 is $90, Cloud 7 is $126 and Cloud 14 is $156. A US reseller also lists Cloud 10 at $85.50, Cloud 30 at $182.40 and Pro plans with continuous recording up to $236.55. The Bridge is $99 once.

02

What is the best Ivideon alternative for a business?

It depends on which part you are replacing. For cloud recording like for like, Angelcam, Camcloud and Arcules are the main options, each with a per camera price. If a recorder already keeps the footage and the alerts are the problem, a detection layer such as MotionDetection costs less than a recording plan and stores nothing twice.

03

Does Ivideon have person detection?

Ivideon alerts on motion, sound, temperature and alarm inputs, and some detectors depend on the camera model. Its paid analytics cover face recognition, license plates, people counting and queues. We found no Ivideon plan that classifies an ordinary motion event as a person or vehicle to filter false alerts.

04

Does Ivideon work with any IP camera?

Mostly. The Ivideon Bridge connects up to 16 cameras or NVR channels over RTSP, ONVIF and Hikvision or Dahua protocols, and Ivideon says it works with 98 percent of cameras. Ivideon Server software does the same from a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, and some cameras ship with Ivideon built in.

05

Is Ivideon a Russian company?

Ivideon started in Russia, and IPVM reported on its Russian backing in 2022. US customers contract with Ivideon LLC in Irvine, California, and Ivideon's privacy policy says data for US accounts is stored in US data centers, with data for CIS users stored in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

06

Can I keep my NVR and get person alerts without Ivideon?

Yes. A detection layer reads the RTSP sub stream the NVR already pulls, classifies each real motion event as a person, vehicle, animal or package, and alerts only on the classes you pick. The NVR keeps recording. MotionDetection works this way from $49 a month for four cameras, with no new box and no cloud archive.

Keep the recorder. Fix the alerts.

One field, one 6 digit code, and your console opens on that address. Pick the tier by camera count and pay by card, with no quote to wait for.
